Vikings in College
Abrie Anderson (2011) was a two time First Team All-District selection. Abrie helped guide the 2010-2011 Vikings back to the playoffs for the first time in over 20 years. He continued on to Ellsworth College where excelled both on the court and in the classroom.
Mark Brown (2012) achieved District MVP, as well as, First Team all Central Texas honors from the Austin American Statesman. Mark was a key member of back-to-back playoff teams. After high school Mark went onto the next level at Concordia University Texas in Austin. Here are some photos from his signing day in the Lanier theater.

Kenneth Delley Jr. (2012) has taken his talents to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. “JR” is a proud member of the Mesabi Range Norseman in Northeastern Minnesota. During his time at Lanier “JR” was a tireless worker on the basketball court and is now bringing that level of determination to both the court and classroom at Mesabi Range. Congratulations to another Viking making the Lanier community proud.
Isaiah Wilson (2014) achieved First Team All-Distict honors averaging a double/double in points and rebounds along with leading the district in block shots. Isaiah went on to nationally ranked Redlands Community College in El Reno, Oklahoma where he has been starring on the court, as well as, in the classroom making the Dean’s List his first year in college.
Lamar McGinnis (2014) started at forward for the 2014 Bi-District Playoff Vikings averaging double digits in points. Lamar became the second Viking to take his talents up North to Messabi Range. Best of luck to Lamar as he starts his college journey.
Davion Buster (2018) started all four years of his varsity career earning District New-Comer of the Year (2015), Offensive MVP (2017) and two District MVP Awards (2016, 2018). Davion was also twice named First Team All-Central Texas (2016,2018), three times TABC All-Region (2016,2017,2018) and voted TABC All-State (2018). Davion graduated as the All-Time leading scorer in Central Texas amassing 3,150 points in his high school career. Davion earned a Division 1 Scholarship with Lamar University where he continues to excel on the court and in the classroom.
Tajik Bartholomew (2018) started three years for the Viking varsity team making three straight trips to the playoffs. He was named Second Team All-District (2017) and voted All-District First Team his senior year (2018). Tajik epitomized a great student-athlete and left a lasting impression on many Lanier students and staff. Also a standout on the football field; Tajik decided to take his talents to Southern Nazarene University.
