On November 15-17 our Vikings participated in the first annual Shoes for Two Tournament at Austin High. Below are the details and information if anyone would like to learn more or get involved in this great charity:
Austin High’s first annual ShoesForTwo Basketball Tournament was a tremendous success. 97 pairs of high quality athletic shoes were collected just in time for the Christmas season. These shoes are earmarked for:
- One shipment to an emergency shelter in California for victims of the recent wildfires
- Three distributions events for youth in the Austin area
- One shipment for distribution in Cuba via ACTION Cuba
While “thank you” doesn’t even start to express our gratitude for this effort, it would be greatly appreciated if you would let the coaches/players/parents of the schools who participated in Austin High’s tournament how much their contributions are valued.
Almost 100 kids (and even some adults) will have an awesome pair of shoes soon because of your effort and efforts of the supporting schools. That’s something that we can all feel good about.
