Vikings News · Viking Baseball Picks Up Big 5-1 Win Over Travis

Lanier Varsity Baseball snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-1 victory over Travis on Thursday. The game was tied at one with the Viks batting in the top of the sixth when Melvin Garcia singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Luis Adame picked up his 4th win tossing another complete game. Adame was in total command allowing one run on three hits, striking out 11 and walking zero.
The Viks tallied nine hits on the day. Luis Adame and Ivan Pizano both managed multiple hits. Adame went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Viking charge. Senior Melvin Garcia led The Vikings with two stolen bases, as the team lit up the base paths with five stolen bases. The Viking defense was stellar committing only one error on the night. A great team effort led to the nights success.

The Viks are back in action to complete the series with Travis tomorrow at Nelson Field – 5 PM
