The Vikings got on the board early in the non-district contest against Eastside Memorial in what would be a pitching duel for the first 5 innings. The Vikings got on the board in the first inning when Zach Heimann singled home Luis Adame. The Vikings would not score again until the 4th inning when Miguel Moreno reached on a 2 out dropped 3rd strike. The Vikings began to pull away in the sixth inning as Melvin Garcia and Mario Mireles each drove in runs for the Vikings.
Luis Adame was credited with his 3rd victory on the year. Adame surrendered one run on one hit over five innings, striking out ten and walking one.
Ivan Pizano and Miguel Moreno entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Eastside’s starting pitcher was dominate striking out 14 Vikings and collecting a pair of hits to lead Eastside.
However, the Viks tore up the basepaths with multiple players having more than 1 stolen base. Zach Heimann led the Viking offense with a pair of hits and 7 stolen bases.
