Vikings News · Viking Baseball Opens District Play With All Level Sweep Of Reagan

The Viking Baseball Program opened district play Tuesday night against Reagan. The Varsity, JVA and JVB all took home decisive victories, 21-3, 16-0 and 12-1 respectively.

The Vikings got things moving in the first inning, plating 6 runs on 5 hits.  The Viking offense put runs on the board in all 5 innings of the shortened game. The offense charged again in a seven run fifth inning. All told the Vikings tallied 14 hits in the game. Luis Adame had 3 hits, Oscar Peralta, Zach Heimann, Ethan Jean, and Mario Mireles. Ethan Jean was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Tuesday, driving in four including his first career homerun to lead the varsity past Reagan 21-3 on Tuesday.

Luis Adame picked up his 2nd win on the season striking out 5. Miguel Moreno, Ivan Pizano and Saul Mondragon also contributed an inning each of relief in the contest.

The Vikings went to their bench early, using all 15 active players in the contest.

The Vikings return to action this weekend. The Varsity plays Eastside Memorial at Nelson Field 7:00 PM on Friday while the JVA and JVB team will be competing in the AISD Baseball Tournaments.


JVA plays games on campus Thursday at 3:00 PM

JVB plays games on campus Friday at 2:45 and 5:00 PM
