Multiple Teams · Viking Baseball Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Crockett

The Vikings jumped out to an early lead over Crockett and took home a 12-5 victory on Wednesday night at Burger Stadium. The Cougars came out swinging scoring 3 runs in the top of the first only to be answered by the Viks who put up 8 runs in the bottom of the frame. During the inning the Vikings notched 5 hits including a double from Luis Zayas and a two out 3 run double off the bat of Arhian Albis.

The Viking offense continues to improve, collecting eight hits in the game. Albis and Soph. Mario Mireles each collected multiple hits for Vikings. Pizano and Albis led the team with three RBI’s each. Marcos Heimann led Vikings with five stolen bases, as the Viks collected 10 stolen bases on the night.

Ivan Pizano earned the win for Vikings tossing a complete game allowing only one earned run. He went seven innings, giving up five runs, seven hits, striking out two, and walking only one.

The Vikings return to action tomorrow night in game 2 of the rivalry series at Garrison Park 5:00 first pitch. Hope to see you at the ballpark!
