Lanier took care of business in the rival match up with Reagen sweeping the raiders at the Freshmen, JV, and Varsity levels. The Lady Viks varsity squad controlled the game in all four quarters finishing the night with a 50-34 win over Reagan. While the scoring efforts were at full force for the Viks, the team play and chemistry displayed were what really stood out in this opening district game.
Precious Brewer posted another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kadasia Duirden posted her first double-double going off for 11 points and 14 boards. Erica Coleman again filled up the basket scoring 18 points for the Viks. Maria Reyes had a stand out game, knocking down floaters in the lane and finishing a 3 point play in the 3rd that ended any sliver of hope the raiders had left. She finished with 7 points and 4 boards.
Sub-varsity shout-outs go to De’jha King who came back from injury in the forth quarter and buried a free throw to steal the freshman game from the Raiders, and Grace Bennie who could not miss in the second half scoring 12 points that lead the JV to their first double digit margin of victory this season.
The Lady Viks play their next game at LBJ this Tuesday 12/13. Freshmen at 5:30, JV at 6:30 and Varsity at 8:00. Hope to see you there!
