Senior Rene Juarez was honored at the Greater Austin Chapter of the National Football Foundation’s 24th annual scholar-athlete awards dinner for his accomplishments on and off the field. Rene joined 48 other student-athletes from the greater Austin area in an first class event held at the Frank Irwin Center Monday night. Among the attendees were University of Texas Head Football Coach Charlie Strong, Former Head Football Coach and keynote speaker Mac Brown and many other notable names. Rene was a three-year starter on the offensive line for the Vikings and earned player of the week twice his Senior year. Rene excels in the classroom by maintaining A/B honor role status and being a member of the National Honor Society and PALS. Rene is also on the Student Council, varsity baseball team, and does volunteer work for the Car Drive and Gorilla Run. Rene is a leader both in the athletic arena and in the classroom, he truly exemplifies a model student-athlete. Rene will attend Texas State University and major in Business with a minor in Psychology.
