The 2017 Boys Soccer non-district schedule has been set, and the Vikings will be challenged in every fixture. The busy slate includes stiff competition from larger 6A schools, two tournaments, four playoff qualifiers, and one state tournament team from 2016.
The Vikings will open the season with away scrimmages against Manor and Cedar Creek High School before entering the Hays Tournament January 5-7. This first week will see the Vikings play a maximum of 7 games in 9 days if they qualify from the group stage in the Rebel Cup.
There will be little time to rest as Lanier faces off with Region III Champion and 5A State Tournament qualifier Pflugerville Connally on January 10 before taking on all comers in the Copa Akins January 12-14.
The final week of preseason includes two more difficult match ups against playoff teams Eastside Memorial and Stony Point before district play kicks off during the week of January 23rd.
