Multiple Teams · Viking Baseball Defeats Crockett With Dramatic 7th Inning Comeback

The Vikings showed tremendous poise on Thursday night in the series opener against rival Crockett. In a game that saw 5 lead changes at Garrison Park, the Vikings finally pulled out a 7-6 win over Crockett.

The Lanier Vikings Varsity pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning.  Rick Bocanegra paced the Vikings offensively and made a tremendous play to close out the game in the bottom of the 7th inning. Timely hits in the top of the 7th sparked the Viking rally.

On the mound, Manny Tejeda notched his 5th win of the season going the distance and closing the door in the bottom of the seventh inning after Crockett rallied to load the bases.

The Vikings return to action tomorrow night as they close out the series at 7:30 PM at Nelson Field.

We hope to see you at the ballpark!
