Freshmen and Varsity Girls Basketball captured big wins in Tuesday’s district game versus the Travis Rebels. The JV fell short, but fought hard.
Jasmine Riley (17 points) and Sandy Leyva (6 points) both had career high scoring nights which helped clench a 34-30 overtime victory for the Freshmen.
Erica Coleman and Maddy Brown were again dominant on the varsity stage with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 20 points, 11 rebounds respectively. Faith Apout also had a season high 14 points and 5 rebounds. An outstanding defensive effort by the whole team, as well as complementary offensive performances from Zylann Wallace(7 points) and Precious Brewer(6 points and 8 rebounds), pushed the Lady Vikings to their biggest win margin of the year finishing with a score of 74-18.
Thanks to all who came out to support this Tuesday. Special shout out to Trainer Blair for all the help he provided at the game.
The Lady Viks travel to Navarro High School this Thursday-Saturday to play in their first tournament of the year. First game is Thursday at 1:30.
