Head Wrestling Coach
I grew up in Hartland, Michigan and attended Hartland High School in a suburban town similar in size to Lanier. During my prep career I amassed 181 wins, was All-State 3 times, and was Athlete of the Year for Livingston Country in 2009. After graduation, I attended Grand Valley State University, where I studied Economics / Education and wrestled for two years. After my wrestling career ended I began coaching at the Youth, Middle School, and High School levels. In 2013-14 at Northview High School I won my first District Championship as a coach. In the summer of 2014, I moved to Katy, Texas to teach Social Studies at Seven Lakes High School where I served as an Assistant Coach for two years. In 2014-15, I won “First Year Teacher of the Year.” This past year I was honored to receive “Assistant Coach of the Year” for both Region III and the State of Texas.
This past summer I helped coach the Texas Junior Duals Team. We competed in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Junior Duals and finished in the top 17. The dual team is a great opportunity for students to compete at the national level. I plan on promoting and coaching Team Texas in the future.
This will be my first year at Lanier High School and I am very privileged to take over a wrestling program with such a rich history. My goal is to build a program full of honorable young men and women. I look forward to this new opportunity and working to “Develop Champions Daily!”
During my 4 years of coaching high school wrestling I have had the opportunity of coaching 12 District Champions, 35 Regional Qualifiers, 5 Regional Champions, 20 State Qualifiers, 8 State Placers, and 1 Team District Championship.
I live with my amazing fiance Deidre and my dog Nala. We are both very pleased to join the Lanier Family and look forward to working with this amazing staff and Viking community.
