Viking Baseball Completes Sweep of Reagan – Open District Play 2-0

The Vikings came out swinging on a beautiful afternoon at Nelson Field. The Vikings spread out 9 hits throughout the lineup and plated 10 runs in the victory over Reagan.

The Vikings used 3 pitchers in the contest, starter Cristian Nieto tossed 3 innings striking out 5. Saul Mondragon took the mound in relief and throwing through some sketchy defensive play by the Vikings that allowed the Raiders to claw their way back into the game. Luis Zayas came in to close out the win tossing the final inning and a third.

Offensively, Ivan Pizano collected 3 hits to lead the Vikings. The Vikings lit up the base paths stealing 10 bases during the contest.

The Vikings will get some much needed rest for the remainder of Spring Break and will return to the diamond on March 21st.

Also of note, the JVA and JVB baseball teams picked up a pair wins each completing the program sweep for the Viks!
