The Lady Vikings soccer team cruised to an easy 6-1 victory over Travis High School on Saturday morning at the Burger Annex stadium. The ladies were in complete control of the game from start to finish and really put together a true team effort. Sammy Mendoza lit up the Rebels with 2 goals, also assisting on two more. Diana Ramirez played a big roll as well by knocking in two goals in the first half. Cindy Moreno also contributed with a goal of her own on a beautiful assist from up and coming freshman speedster Mercedes Blancarte. Lisbet Rivera also slotted home a goal in the second half. Though she didn’t see much action, Maria Salgado was once again a rock in goal and captained her defense. Iris Sifuentes and Iris Aguilar also made some major contributions playing defense in the back. This was a great team win and will hopefully give the ladies some momentum in district play. Please congratulate them when you see them on their dominating performance.
The Lady Vikes will look to make it two in a row with a contest against rival Reagan High on Wednesday night at 7:45 at House Park. Come out and support!
