The 3rd annual Boys Soccer Alumni Game finished in a thrilling 4-4 draw at the Lanier Field. The Alumni team got off to a quick start with Class of 16’s Cesar Torres opening the scoring with a long range effort that found the bottom corner. Lanier responded quickly to take a 2-1 lead into half time after David Villarruel’s equalizer from distance was followed by Mario Gomez earning and scoring a penalty.
The Alumni leveled the match again early in the 2nd half with a special scissor kick volley by Pablo Brito (15). Lanier responded with Josue Maldonado and Melvin Andrade extending the lead to 4-2 and taking control of the match.
The Alumni team would not be denied though as captain Edy Ramirez (16) made two final substitutions throwing on late substitutes Ervin Orantes (15) and Erick Villalba (15). Their impact was immediate as each scored on breakaways in the last ten minutes to complete a gutsy comeback for the Alumni.

Final Score
Lanier 4 – Lanier Alumni 4
