While many are already enjoying the holiday break, the Lady Viking Basketball team went to work on Tuesday night against the McCallum Lady Knights.

Lanier came out strong, putting up 18 points in the first quarter, while holding the Knights to only 5 points. The Vikings continued to put distance between themselves and McCallum, leading at the half, 27-9 .  As the night wore on it became clear that the strong team defense of the Lady Viks, totaling 13 steals, was no match for McCallum.

Freshman Erica Coleman led the Vikings with 17 points, followed by Maddy Brown who put up 12. Zylann Wallace also played a major role in supporting the offensive effort, finishing the night with 9 points. Not to be overlooked, Precious Brewer held her own underneath the basket, racking up 3 offensive rebounds and 4 defensive rebounds.

The Lady Vikings advance 3-2 on the season and will enter into the holiday week eager to return to  defend their undefeated district record against the Travis Rebels on December 1st. Thanks to all who came and showed their support, we are proud to be a part of this great Viking Nation!Team Photo 1
